De Tocqueville
It's easy to miss this plaque in Academy Park commemorating the visits of Alexis De Tocqueville to the Albany area in the early 1830s. His itinerary can be found here.
Where exactly is this in Academy Park? I've looked around for it but haven't been able to find it. Surely the plaque of a man of such tremendous influence shouldn't be hidden like this.
A lifelong resident of Albany, N.Y. who loves history and writing, I'm also the site admin for Broadway actor Hugh Panaro. Currently working on a history of the Albany Rural Cemetery. Oh, and a Whovian.
